Democrats call for the meeting on the “chaos” in the Treasury Ministry
On Wednesday, Democrats of the Senate demanded that Treasury Secretary Scott Payette attend a meeting with the Democratic Assembly “as soon as possible” to answer questions about the arrival of the Ministry of Governmental efficiency (Doge) to the sensitive Federal payment system.
Under the Senate Minority Leader Chuck Shomer (DN.Y.), members of the Senate expressed their concerns about the “apparently acquired” acquisition of the system known as the financial service by Elon Musk’s Doge.
“The illegal penetration of the system under the guise of” evaluation of operational efficiency “requires your immediate interest, and Congress requires answers about the purpose of” Doug “activity, as the message says to Bessent.
Two DOGE employees managed to reach the system, which deals with 90 percent of federal payments, after a clash with the official of the Supreme Treasury, who eventually resigned last week.
In response to the general protest of the Democrats, the administration clarified in a message on Tuesday that it is conducting a review of the payment system, noting that the employees only have a reading access. Reading only means that they are unable to free or make changes to the system.
Schumer, who joined a speech on Wednesday by Sens. D-Mich.
“As you know, the financial service payment office is very vital for economic and national security,” they wrote. “Any infiltration or manipulation must be addressed immediately. Frankly, the information provided by your administration in this field so far is not sadly insufficient.”
“We are not only talking about this gathering, but for millions of affected Americas, when we say that this is an urgent issue and your participation is necessary for the American people to trust that our government will continue to work effectively and that their privacy remains protected,” continued members of the Senate.
They asked Bessent to respond on Thursday.
After several unions filed a lawsuit against Bessent and the Treasury Ministry earlier this week, the Ministry of Justice (DOJ) agreed to limit the arrival of the system. Tom Kraos, CEO of Cloud Software Group and Marko Elez are the only “private governmental employees” who will only maintain reading for reading, according to his website, a federal judge on Thursday.
