LIVE UPDATES: Trump’s major nominees will appear before Senate committees
Six nominees to serve in President-elect Trump’s administration are scheduled to appear before Senate committees for confirmation hearings on Wednesday.
The list includes former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, Trump’s nominee for attorney general; Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), his pick for Secretary of State; Russell Vought, whom Trump appointed to head the Office of Management and Budget; And John Ratcliffe, nominated to lead the CIA.
A busy week of hearings began Tuesday when Pete Hegseth, Trump’s pick to run the Pentagon, appeared before the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Also on Wednesday, the Senate will continue consideration of the Laken-Riley Act and President Biden is scheduled to deliver a farewell address to the nation.
