Americans divided using weight loss drugs for obesity treatment: survey

According to a survey published on Friday, Americans are divided by using weight loss drugs such as Ojampic and Wagovi to treat obesity or weight -related conditions.

New Associated Press (AP) -ARC Center for Public Affairs Research Survey found that 5 percent of respondents say that it is a good idea to use weight loss drugs for our adults who want to deal with similar conditions. About 17 percent argued that it was a “very or somewhat” bad idea and 28 percent neutral.

The support for the use of weight loss drugs between the ages of 12 and 17 is not as high, 35 percent says that it is a good idea to use them for obesity treatment. According to the survey, about 2 percent percentage respondents were neutral and 57 percent argued that it was a bad idea.

Americans were not supporting them between the ages of 12 to 17 years using weight loss drugs if they did not fight obesity or similar conditions. About 5 percent of the percent said that it is a “very or somewhat” bad idea to use it at that stage of life without fighting obesity. According to the survey, about 2 out of 5, 5 percent were neutral and 5 percent were supportive of the concept.

According to a study by Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, published in September last year, the drugs were approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2021.

A Pew Research Center survey at the end of February last year found that 70 percent of Americans do not think weight loss drugs will have a big impact on the country’s obesity rate. According to the disease control and prevention centers, the rate of obesity in the last 20 years has been slot as 12 percent in the last 20 years.

The AP-Narci survey conducted on January 9-13 in 1,147 adults. The margin of the error was 3.9 percent point.
