Jordan pledges to seize Palestinian children with Trump to threaten aid

King Abdullah II pledged from Jordan to take 2,000 Palestinian children sick from the Gaza Strip on Tuesday amid pressure by President Trump on his country to take in the Palestinians from the pocket.

Abdullah met with Trump at the White House, where the two leaders discussed controversial proposals from Trump to take large areas of the Palestinian population in Gaza while continuing to double the United States to seize the coastal strip and send mixed signals on any of whether residents can be able to do so. .

Meanwhile, Trump seemed to return to the pedal, a proposal to be flooded on the day before the blocking of aid to Jordan and Egypt if they did not take his proposal to transport the Palestinians in their countries upon hearing Abdullah’s offer to take sick children.

“I think the president is very happy because we are doing this thing with 2000 children as quickly as possible,” Abdullah said. “I think the president is looking forward to obtaining a group of us Arabs here to discuss the general plan.”

Abdullah explained that his country will focus on children with cancer or patients, which Trump praised as a “beautiful gesture”.

Trump sits in the Oval Office the previous day during the signing of an executive order, Trump was asked whether he would block assistance from Jordan and Egypt “if they do not take in the Palestinians.”

“Yes, perhaps. Certainly, why not?” Trump responded. “If they do not agree, I will block aid. Yes,” Trump replied.

But on Tuesday, when this question was asked again sitting next to the leaders of one of those countries, Trump reduced his position.

“I think we are above it,” Trump said.

He added: “We contribute a lot of money in Jordan and Egypt, by the way, a lot, but I do not have to threaten this.”

The United States and Jordan signed a note in 2022 in which the United States is committed to providing more than a billion dollars annually as an external aid. The United States has provided approximately $ 1.5 billion in Egypt’s foreign assistance in the fiscal year 2023. Both countries are among the best receptions for US foreign aid.

Meanwhile, the President continued to double his idea that the United States was taking over Gaza after the war and expressed confidence in the meeting that the plan would “succeed” to control Gaza. But Abdullah was lukewarm about such a proposal, which was met with an opposition from most of the Arab region.

Abdullah said that he would wait for the Egyptians to also present ideas.

The meeting comes as a radical shooting between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, which appears to be a volatile point of view, as was the case ever, that it will not be released additional hostages by the deadline on Saturday because it claims that Israel was not with the end of the deal.

Trump also suggested on Monday that he would end the ceasefire on Saturday if the organization’s well -known terrorist organization in the United States did not issue all the remaining hostage in Gaza.
